About Dr. Hunt
Dr. Marion Glenn Hunt is a board-certified gynecologist and the founder of Oxford Obstetrics and Gynecology, where he has been providing compassionate, expert women's health care to the Oxford community since 1987.
Background & Education
Originally from Jackson, Mississippi, Dr. Hunt earned his undergraduate degree from Mississippi College and went on to receive his medical degree from the University of Mississippi Medical Center. He completed both his pediatric internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the same institution.
While he originally thought OB/GYN would be the last specialty he pursued, he discovered a deep passion for women's health during his clinical rotations—drawn to the complexity of the endocrine and reproductive systems and to the opportunity to care for women across their entire lifespan.
Dr. Hunt is a proud member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and the Menopause Society, reflecting his commitment to evidence-based care and continued professional growth.
Practice & Procedures
In his practice, Dr. Hunt offers a full range of in-office and hospital-based procedures. In the office, he performs hysteroscopies to evaluate abnormal uterine bleeding and remove polyps, as well as colposcopies for cervical health.
At the hospital, he provides advanced surgical options including robotic-assisted laparoscopic hysterectomy and myomectomy, laparoscopic evaluation and treatment of pelvic pain, and surgical correction of pelvic organ prolapse, which encompasses bladder, uterine, and/or rectal prolapse.
Personal Life
Dr. Hunt moved to Oxford inspired by the excellent public schools for his children, the vibrant cultural and sporting events offered by the University of Mississippi, and the opportunity to expand access to women's health services in the region. His favorite parts of the job are the dedicated team he works with every day and the long-term relationships he builds with patients as they move through life's stages.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Hunt enjoys gardening, writing haiku, photography, baking, and spending time with his grandchildren.
