Urinary incontinence is the inability to control the release of urine from your bladder. Our doctors can administer a bladder function test, which is typically performed for women who have problems with incontinence (involuntary loss of urine), urgency or frequent urination.
Types of urinary incontinence include:
-
Stress Incontinence (the loss of urine when you exert stress on your bladder by coughing, sneezing, laughing, exercising or lifting something heavy)
-
Urge Incontinence (a sudden, intense urge to urinate, followed by an involuntary loss of urine)
-
Overflow Incontinence (an inability to empty your bladder, accompanied by a frequent or constant dribble of urine)
-
Mixed Incontinence (affected by one or more type of incontinence)
