Obstetrics & Gynecology

The practice of Obstetrics is concerned with the medical management of pregnancy, including preconception counseling, prenatal care, labor and delivery, and the post-partum (after delivery) period. The practice of Gynecology refers to the diagnosis and treatment of disorders unique to women.

This field covers a broad medical and surgical spectrum including contraception, infertility, annual examination, menopausal disorders, pelvic surgery, urinary tract dysfunction, laser surgery, etc.  In short, the specialty of Obstetrics and Gynecology is the branch of medicine wholly dedicated to women's health care from early adolescence through the reproductive years, and well beyond.

Fees

We base our fees on the amount of time we spend with you, the procedures performed, and the degree of medical difficulty that a particular case involves.  Our fee schedule is based on statistically determined standards within our communtiy; therfore, they are generally consistent with those in other local medical offices.  Please do not hesitate to dicuss our fees if you have any questions.  We are concerned with the cost of medical care, and we appreciate your suggestions.

Payment and Insurance

Charges for office visits are paid at the time of the visit.  We do not accept insurance payment for routine office care.  The receipt that is given to you at the time of your visit has been designed for you to forward to your insurance company.

Insurance plans vary and may cover anywhere from zero to 100% of your medical and surgical cost.  Your insurance is generally a contract between you and your insurance company.  You are responsible for your bills regardless of what your insurance pays.

It is your responsibilty to inform us if your insurance company requires hospital preadmission certification or a second surgical opinion.  Obstetric patients are expected to precertify their routine prenatal care with their insurance company.  Most companies will NOT pay full benefits if you do not meet the precertification requirements of their policy.

Referrals

If another doctor has referred you to us, please call this to our attention so we may report to him or her promptly.  This assures continuity of your medical care.
